Donaldson Run

The Donaldson Run neighborhood is named after the stream that runs through its center and flows into the Potomac River. The area was once a farm, and one of the early farming families who transported crops to and from Georgetown had the surname Donaldson. Since 2004, the Donaldson Run stream has been part of an ongoing restoration project to mitigate some of the erosion along its banks. As a result, the stream has regained much of its flow and vegetation, providing new life to the beautiful terrain.

The residential areas consist mostly of homeowners, and the most common home styles are ramblers and colonials, although there are also Cape Cods and split-level homes. Many homebuyers seek out this neighborhood for more space. Residents mostly rely on their own vehicles for transportation, with the Ballston Metro being the nearest option. Commutes to D.C. are relatively brief, and residents also have easy access to hiking trails for a quick break and a breath of fresh air.
